The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

New Compy!

Yay!

You remember how my other computer was always going blue screen on me? lol I could never forget!

So yeah, we now have an up to date system and it's like whoa I don't even-

It's nice. I gotta get Photoshop and all my other programs on here and I'll be up and running voila! Alas, I do almost 98% of my work on my laptop which has been having really bad lagging issues lately. I think......it's what over five years old. Is that old for a laptop? -_-

It won't stop me from working on things, but I'm not sure how to kick up its performance. My flash program keeps crashing [aka not responding then closes], photoshop keeps having this weird thing where all the tool icons disappear and if you roll over they reappear, but it's just easier to restart it. Urghh....and saving takes a long time and these file sizes aren't that humongous.

i never liked laptops 8V i swear that EVERY SINGLE TIME ive ever touched one, it gave me a blue screen x_X while my desktop hasnt given me any problems ever. my desktop is

xD its almost 6 years old but it still works as well now as the day i got it c: idk how anyone can even stand laptops xD maintenance is a lot more difficult, its hard to customize them at all and they overheat way way too easily. laptops hate me and i hate them LOL so its all fair c:

lololol I can feel the heat of the laptop hate!

It is true, they are mostly unpleasant. I feel stuck with it being buggy because of the fact I have no idea how to do maintenance of it and I won't, unlike my desktop which I'd tear apart in a sec. The heat does suck too, so I had to get a special fan for it to sit on. It's more noisy than I'd care for, but it at least keeps the sucker cool.......ish.

Though the constant blue screens for you, yeah, they just hate you.

I gotta get me a new one!!!!! That and a tablet. My pen.....is so worn out......that ain't helping. lol

I really gotta revisit Cid. It's been soo sooooo long. I miss the ol'cap'n. But I also want to do lots of work on my original Reign stuff so I'll have balance it out between them.

But yes, Cid, sometime this year. lol

Ahhh I totally need to update my laptop. It's where I do all my main work, so even though we got the home compy updated, I only use it for final touches. XD So backwards! :shakefish:

Okay, yeah, I should take my own advice considering I have so many fandoms I'm writing for *coughBleachandHarryPotter* when I SHOULD be developing the plot for my original fiction that I hope to get published someday...>.> But seriously bring the Captain back!
