Hot sick

Journal Entry: Sun Jul 4, 2010, 8:48 PM

I just love to talk about the weather, so I'm doing it again. lol

The past couple of days have been dread. As soon as it hit July it's been hot and muggy like hell. My cats have melted into furry puddles and I have had no choice but to drag out the AC lest I join them.

Lots of thunderstorms and tornado watches too which is not amusing. What is even less amusing than that is I have seemed to catch a summer cold. So today has been miserable, the sore throat and tired headness is the worst. On the upside it wasn't so muggy today. That'd really be too much having to endure both.

But enough of that XD

Today I reached 60,000 pageviews. Thanks all! I'm not holding a kiriban for this one, but I'll probably make some arts to celebrate it. I do have a kiriban number set, but it's still a ways off. It'll be here soon enough I think, so keep an eye out. Especially if I'm going to be a lot more active.

Which I am trying to do.

Although I have gotten into a bad habit of fav and running. I never used to do this as I actually like to leave comments on things. So I'm trying to get back into commenting with my faving. A bad habit to get into, it really is. I'm not down on people who do it, it's just I know that I used to like to leave comments that I'm irked. That's actually a reason I was somewhat unhappy with the groups system because we lost our club voice and just became our own personal user voice. I enjoyed speaking as mayuri-madness-fc because I didn't want the club to be identified as me, but rather as the club.

Well whatever. XD I've found my own ways around that. ;)

Hrmm, not much else to add. I'm close to getting a Spartan llama. Madness.

lol

You all have a good day now, and I hope all my American friends had a great July.4th!

Later,

- Ren

I think I'll upload something tomorrow since I can do that.

The weather plays a huge role in most people's lives I think... at least if they ever go outside. I like to take dawn walks around my place: Nobody else is around (except those who need to walk their dogs) and there's not much heat here yet... I wear layers, ready for however long my walk ends out to be. They vary a lot.
I once lived for years where there were tornados, and was only truly impressed by one (no one had phones or even TV there...it remains nameless) ...It that had the tall trees around the house twisting in circular patterns, and a wind I could hardly believe. My spouse (deceased now) had the elder there realize (she was very old) how scared we were (we were in charge of babysitting a whole lot of little kids, they were really "too scared") and the old woman simply went outside, stood on the porch and talked to the storm (gruff) in her language... Then it was gone. Never came back. Very cool.
Yeah, I like weather-stuff too.
Sorry to hear about your summer cold and hope your AC and even the "cats in a puddle" all perk up. I'm glad you hit the kind llama you like... and appreciate the llama you sent my way (thanks) and hope you reach all goals you like. If it's writing now... I hope to see it someday. Writing is all I do here.. well, and critique stuff for various clubs. Wish you the best... 60,000 'pagewiews-person.' :star:

That is a neat a story about the woman and the storm. I can just picture it. Must have made the whole thing feel very surreal.

Many thanks for the comment.

I'm a huge weather geek, so I actually enjoy your weather ramblings. Tornado season was fairly active in the midwest for a few months, and now we're in the second month of hurricane season, which was off to a slow start compared to past years, though there was already a hurricane in June, which hadn't occurred in over ten years! There's a disturbance by the Caribbean at the moment that may become a depression. AWESOME.

Summer colds are the worst. :bleh: If not for geography, I'd offer you a nice batch of remedies that would elbow that cold in the face!

Also, I saw what you did there with that Spartan Llama reference. =P

 Yay go us! :w00t:

So you're in an area where there are tornado watches too? Ever have a touchdown? I'm happy at least there's no hurricanes here. Was that hurricane Alex you are referring to? The weather has seemed to settle down here for the most part, though thunderstorms and freaky weather happen almost instantaneously. Just as fast as it happens it dissipates.

I hate to say I look forward to winter because the worst that can happen is a blizzard. No crazy wind tunnel vacuums and that. XD

Oh I know I could go for some of your remedies. I think......I'm sorta better. So glad I had the day off work today. That woulda been bomb.

Spartans......llamas.......makes you wonder how these things happen in the first place. :XD:

Oh, yeah; we get tornadoes where I live--while not as frequently as, say, the likes of Missouri or Illinois, we get 'em. Some of them will touch down; allow me to refer you to the 2008 March tornado that touched down in downtown Atlanta--a VERY rare case as such a thing never ocurred in that area, and it happened the night before Momocon that year (yes, it still went on, and yes, I went!)!
Yes; I was indeed referring to Alex. I know a good deal about hurricanes; after the crazy 2004 and 2005 seasons, I started studying and researching them. The worst of the season won't hit until next month. I've noticed that summer tends to produce a lot of spontaneous weather; thunderstorms happen whenever but will leave as quickly as they came. It's so odd.

Winters here are never exciting, since we're in such a warm climate. All we get is gray skies and a good bit of rain. Sometimes it may snow, on occasion we get an ice storm. I imagine if winter was more exciting, I wouldn't hate it nearly as much. >.<

Sounds like your day off came at the right time! What's usually worked for me are these natural fruit drinks that are loaded with Vitamin C--that, and a nice hot giant mug of tea. It worked wonders when I almost got sick right before ACen. :bleh:

Right? dA, you so randum.

Ah, the joys of living in Ireland...Cool seas, mild climate... Even if it is a tad soggy at least there's no thunderstorms or tornado warnings flying over my head.
Congrats with the pageviews!

Have some tea, that always helps! xD

Generally, not too hot not too cold... Depends if you mind the rain or not though.
Speaking of tea I could use some now actually

Muahahaha furry puddles of doom...I can remember my cat would be one as well with this weather. I'm glad things are a bit cooler over here though. But wut...thunderstorms and tornados? Peachy!!!

*sits at work with some tea and takes a sip*

Now that is perfect weather to sit down and watch some anime...which I need to do again now that I got me some new ones XD

And yes btw...I got your 60.000 because I'm awesome...that and it gave me some inspiration to work a bit on that story I was working on. Soooooo I grabbed some paper and started to write a bit again. And now I am tired because sitting at work sucks and in half an hour I'll be having customers who'll have a hissy fit and whine and cry and yell...lovely!!!! XD
