Are you Infected?

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 30, 2010, 8:35 AM

This is more of a pointless journal entry, but I have to say something about it!

If you are a fan of Infected Mushroom, then this'll make sense to ya and you can get excited with me......because I'm excited. lol

I knew Infected Mushroom was due for a new album, it had been a long while since Vicious Delicious and I heard they had some new songs which means they were up to something. I'd keep checking and checking and didn't come across anything. Then I forgot about it a long time.........and just the other day I found their new album, it was released back in September! Arghhh. XD

That album is "The Legend of the Black Shawarma". I came across it on Youtube and I had to order it that day.

The surprising part is it arrived the next day! :XD: I always have to wait two weeks for stuff [at least]. I had it gift wrapped too b/c I didn't buy myself anything for my bday lol and it arriving so quickly cheered me up after a day of work. What kind of day of work.......gah. Nevermind that.

I have been obsessively listening to it since. This album is brilliant and choosing a fav song is difficult. It's got the same Infected Mushroom sound[s], but with their experimentive ways making each tune a non-bore to listen to. I find it kind of cute how they include sounds from their past albums in songs as if it ties them together. I also love how the way a song begins is not how it will end per say. There are too many techno out there where the song is repetitive, same beat over and over and you rarely notice build-ups or anything. I used to be a huge huge fan of Daft Punk until I realized this. I still like Daft, but Infected Mushroom is the king b/c they can break from the monotonous mold. They sound nothing like they did converting vegetarians since 1996. lol That is one of my most listened to albums too.

Ohhhhh so good.

*goes to OD on the Mushroom* lawf

I never had the chance to find more of their songs, but I fell in love with 'Heavyweight' (from Vicious Delicious, I believe) the first time I heard it. 'Forgive Me' got the same reaction too, more or less. I'll have to make my way through those links - right now, I think. Yay, music!

Heavyweight is a very good one.

Good luck getting through the links. Hope you happen upon something you really like. :D

Mayuri DOES look like he's dancing to Semi Nice! Ahhh, that is amusing! I'd not heard of this group before. After watching the vid for "Becoming Insane," I think I'll just stick with listening to the music. :XD:

I've actually never watched any of the videos. I don't like music videos much in general...so yeah, stick with the music. :lmao:

But now that you've mentioned it, I'm all curious and I don't wanna see something I'm gonna regret! Weird thing is music videos change my perceptions and somethings not a good thing. Like System of a Down. I was happier not knowing what they even looked like. Weirdness I am.

Yay for CD's! =P

That almost sounds so old fashioned now. I resisted the urge to buy vinyl.....XD I wouldn't be able to play that anyway.
